Generally celebrated by schools, teachers and students from Pre-K to Grade 3, the 100th Day of Learning is an opportunity to incorporate math concepts and associations with the number 100 into a fun day that honors the value of being part of a class of learners. This special day was invented by Livermore, California teacher, Lynn Taylor, in 1979. Today, teachers celebrate the day with counting activities, classroom decorations and reflections of student achievements and milestones from the previous 100 days of learning together. Given that school years begin at different times from August to September, the 100th day of learning is different across different schools and school boards. However, it usually falls in late January or February. Whatever way you celebrate, make it memorable!
